Why pick us?

Thanks for the opportunity for us to introduce our company to you and why you should consider Sherring Construction for your next project. It's important you know about the people that may be working in your home, so I'd like to tell you about my company.

Sherring Construction has been in successfully operating in Contra Costa County since 1991. We have a very loyal clientele, and can provide you with references and photos of past work upon your request. Our goal is to always finish the job on time, on budget, and exceeding the clients expectations. Our specialties are, whole house remodels and addition, also kitchen/bath remodels, and new door/window installation.

My name is David Sherring, owner and manager of Sherring Construction. I first received my training in my home country of Australia, attending years of formal education in the building trades. Included was carpentry, joinery, drafting and design, and more. This was fallowed by an apprenticeship for four years. My education exposed me to all phases of construction in both commercial and residential. Here in America, where I primarily do home remodeling and additions, I have a general contractors license, home remodeling certification, and a historical builder certification and better business bureau. Also, due to my reputation and client feedback, I am one of the few Bay Area contractors selected to receive specialized training by Anderson Windows and Doors and be a preferred installer.

We maintain a small crew of long-term, trusted and skilled employees who are always honest, tidy, and polite. We have a group of long term subcontractors, Who have proven to reflect the same high standards.

I feel it is also very important to protect my clients' assets. With that in mind, I carry a high level of general liability insurance and workman's compensation insurance for my employees. It is critical that you, the homeowner, ensure any contractor you choose carries both these so that the contractor, rather than you, takes on the risk involved should someone be injured on the job. This coverage can be checked on the Contractors State License Board website ( or through certifications sent from the insurance companies.

Finally, when considering contractors, please keep in mind we make every effort to minimize change orders by including all details up front and always include quality materials, and making the client aware of the possibility of required extra work items in the initial bid. This is not true of all contractors, and competing bids should include all the same details.

"At Sherring Construction we care about the job and it shows"
